1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia 2.1L 2WD 160K Miles 4-Speed Manual
Runs excellent and camps great as is. Could use some work.
40K on fully rebuilt engine including new heads and head gaskets.
I have owned this van for 18 years and done a lot to it. Many years ago, before I owned it, an insurance company totaled the van for driver’s side body damage it sustained in an accident. There was no damage to the frame. It’s been back on the road so long now I had forgotten all about that. Utah issued the van a rebuilt title. Van has seam rust mostly on driver’s side.
The van starts right up and after a 60-second warm up it runs perfectly. The engine is strong, blows no smoke, and burns no oil between changes. Transmission shifts easily, works correctly, and runs quietly. No slippage in the clutch. Tight front end and newer shocks/springs so van tracks and handles well on the road.

-AC Compressor removed by me.
-The GoWesty springs groan eg when turning into a steep driveway ramp on the diagonal. They have done this since they were installed. I’ve ignored it.

-Tent fabric damaged at rear hinges. Dime sized hole needs patch.
