1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper, 137k Automatic
Second Owner. A little background, my brother and I purchased the car from the original owner’s family 3 years ago, have only put 500 miles on it since. We thought we would do a quick freshen up, getting her in running condition and have some fun camping at our races. We sort of just kept going with it. At this point we also have a 02’ EV Westfalia and 97’Winnebago and just don’t see it being used.
137k, original miles. Since we have had it here’s a partial list of all the new parts and work done. We are more old school, so we tried to keep as many parts original as possible.
New
Gas Tank, fuel lines, filter
Paint. There was very little rust on the car but the clearcoat had faded on a lot of the surfaces. Hard decision but we did a full respray. Have pictures of it before for reference.
Camper Tent
Bluetooth stereo with Microphone
Front Calipers (rotors and pads) Brake lines. Rear drums and linings
Front suspension bushings
Vent and vent cover
Tires (proper XL) with a period set of Carat wheels. (Have period set of BBS also available)
Both batteries replaced
Headlights and bulbs all the way around
Engine
Has original numbers matchings
Heads were pulled and inspected. Plugs, wires, fuel injectors, coolant pipes, belts
Interior
Was in great shape. 98% original and functional. Cleaned it up, pulled fridge and added additional fans along with electronic ignition.
A/C is intact all the pieces are there. We bypassed the compressor with a shorter belt.
