Up for sale (or possibly trade) a 1985 VW Vanagon! I absolutely love this thing to death but I truly can’t take the reins of owning a vehicle this old at this time in my life! Don’t let that scare you this thing is amazing and runs great! More photos if you’re serious & contact me, thank you! No test drives unless I see cash because I know it runs perfect. Have receipts showing over $6000 put into this van, no low ballers please, I know the worth and how I know how great this van is, just needs a home that can take care of it and use it more then I can!
Right before I purchased it had a brand new automatic transmission with Gowesty oil cooler installed have receipts for it all. All work was done at Broad Street Garage in San Luis Obispo. Transmission has less than 4000 total miles. The oil cooler will allow the transmission to operate at a much cooler temp. should not have any issues for 10-15 years.
Just replaced the gas tank, fuel lines, all the belts have been replaced, brand new coil and coolant/oil change!
The engine was fully rebuilt by Bug Werks in Corvallis Oregon in 2014, this bus runs and drives like new, pulls all the passes with ease. Engine has less than 8000 total miles.
Vanagon is equipped with air condition but will probably need to be recharged
California emissions equipped. New front calipers. Wolfsburg hubcaps with newer Toyo Spectrum tires and newer shocks and struts, handles very well. No rust, but does have a couple of dings on the slider door and front nose. Queen size Z-bed in rear, sleeps 3, seats 7. Very strong engine, no oil burning or leaking. very dry underside
**If you are looking for a mechanically sound Vanagon, but can deal with a few bumps and bruises, this bus would suit you perfectly. I would not hesitate to take this bus cross county, which I literally did when I purchased the van in Medford Oregon and drove to New York City with only a few small hiccups that have already been corrected since the drive was completed.
One thing! There is an exhaust leak that can easily be corrected with new seal around the gasket, I just haven’t gotten around to fixing it. Other then that the van is good to go! Also if you have made it this far awesome but I will include whatever additional parts I have for the van which also includes the $300 holy grail manual!
Please contact me with legit offers and trades, worst I can say is no so please reach out.
