1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia (conversion) Synchro (4WD) TDI – wheew!
This van is awesome. Chances are you know what these are, and how great they are.
Here’s the scoop:
Got the van as just a synchro gas Vanagon from Sacramento, did a camper conversion at North Westy.
Had a MK3 Jetta TDI as a daily driver – had North Westy swap the engine from it into the van.
Many, many other things as well.
I have a book of receipts documenting everything that was done.
About the van:
RUST FREE – from California. It’s actually rust free, not just “rust free.”
Turbo Diesel swap from a great running car into the great running van.
It’s a Syncro – 4WD. Not the dinky 2WD companions.
Converted to a camper – has pop-top, stove, bed in back.
Manual transmission.
Big bumpers.
Clean title.
Tabs good until 2016.
There are so many things that have been replaced/upgraded during the conversion, the receipts show.
Please, view the pictures. If I didn’t get a picture of it, feel free to ask for more!
It’s not perfect by any means, paint isn’t pristine – it’s original though! But if you’re going to actually drive the thing where a Syncro should be driven, it’ll be covered by mud anyways.
Unsure of mileage on both engine and body since the shop never documented it (sounds fishy, right? It runs very well, that’s for sure.)
30k FIRM – Just wanting to sell to the right buyer (or keep all for my self!)
