The Tiico engine basically a VW Golf engine with 140 hp, and looks just like a factory install. The previous owner purchased the engine as a new crate engine, and had Stephan’s install it. I’ve actually passed other vehicles going uphill. This van is my daily driver, so I am still putting miles on it. Always very reliable, I don’t hesitate driving it anywhere. This is the most rare Vanagon, the Multi-Van, also known as the Weekender. I’ve owned the full camper van but I like this layout a lot more. You still get the pop-top but the camping equipment is out of the way, so you have room for two jump seats, or 7 passengers. You can still sleep 4 people, and the back cabinet is great for storage.

I would trust this van to go anywhere. It has been my daily driver for the last two years, and I have taken it several times to San Francisco, Tahoe, and three times to Southern California. I am the fourth owner. It was originally sold in Texas and brought to California in 1999, so no rust at all. I have the clean title in my name, all original manuals with three keys that work in all locks. The automatic transmission shifts nicely since it was rebuilt in 2007, and I recently changed the fluid. I made sure that everything works, including AC, both front and rear heaters, all curtains and screens, clock, electric mirrors, and new Kenwood stereo with nice speakers, amp and even a Kicker sub. Interior is in excellent shape with no rips or tears, both jump seats and table.

The paint was peeling and fading, so I had it painted at a body shop with a very nice two coat clear coat in the original burgundy with pearl affect. It did not need any bodywork, and has never been in any accidents. Even the Carfax rates it at $1,130 above blue book.
