Hello and thanks for checking out my ad!
I am interested in selling my beloved Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia full camper. I have owned the van for many years now and had fantastic road trips and camping adventures in it. However, I have recently become unable to put as much time as I would like to into upkeep and maintenance in addition to having minimal space to do so. I have always tried to take care of the van for future owners and rarely spared expenses when it came to upgrades or repairs. I purchased the van from my mechanic in Michigan and had it shipped out here. The van enjoys the warmer weather and has been parked in a secure garage since coming West.
All major repairs and maintenance have been carefully completed by the top-notch mechanics at the Buslab in Berkeley. I have all receipts and records of work done on the van including many of the records from the previous owner dating back to 140,000 miles. The previous owner had the stock 2.1L engine rebuilt at 145,000 miles along with cylinder head replacement. To name the major repairs completed under my ownership:
– Rebuilt transmission (160,000 miles)
– KYB Shocks and struts (155,000 miles)
– GoWesty 16″ custom chrome alloy rims (160,000 miles)
– Fuel hoses (154,000)
– Stainless steel coolant pipes
– New gas tank
– Complete rear brakes
– Brake hoses & hard lines
– New Water pump
– New Thermostat
– New starter motor
– New radiator
– New “J” pipe and Catalytic converter
In addition to the necessary mechanical improvements, many additions have been made to the interior such as new stereo and front speakers, vinyl hardwood floor and many others.
This van is not perfect and I don’t think another van owner would tell you such a thing exists. This van, however, is in good condition and has many of the major repairs to the drivetrain already completed. Minimal rust and a solid body will ensure a long life in California. As I might say, this van is a blank canvas ready for customization and many more camping adventures.
The van was smogged in early April 2016 and passed with no issues. If you’re interested, give me a call and we can chat about details or try to schedule a meeting.
Thanks and have a great day!
