I have a real nice 87 Vanagon tin top.
Very little rust, a small bubbling on rear panel in front of wheel well opening the size of a dime and a few surface specks.
Very rare 5-speed trans, 2.1 water cooled. Milage not known on engine but chassis has 167,xxx.
engine runs ok, a little tired compression 100, 145, 90, and 140. AMC heads.
needs clutch and exhaust but runs well considering.
I also have a second motor 130 in 4 holes, all components(pwr steering pump, starter, coolant pump, clutch, alternator, replaced at rebuild 70,000 miles ago. Also balanced and AMC heads. The interior is good, is an a/c and cruise control van but neither are connected.
Was going to swap out motors. I crashed the van while trying to avoid a dog on hwy, I dont’ have the time, energy, or facility to do the body work. See photos.
Between the two motors I have enough good parts for a complete exhaust with no leaks. I will consider selling the second motor separately.
All must go will take best offer, I need to get another vehicle soon.
