ENGINE DESCRIPTION: Brand New 2003 VW Jetta 4-cylinder, 2.2 L, 130 hp, TiiCo Conversion Kit installed in July 2003.

ENGINE CONVERSION- THE ISSUES: When confronted with a head gasket problem in 2003 at odometer reading of 150,996 the decision was made to install a new engine. The problems with the original engine were 2-fold: (1) it was underpowered, and (2) it was prone to head gasket problems due to aluminum heads and an iron block.

ENGINE CONVERSION- THE WORK: A new 2003 VW JETTA engine was chosen using a South African conversion kit (TiiCO). Conversion done by German Engine Service, owner Bill Bourg, in Olympia.

ENGINE CONVERSION- THE RESULTS: (1) I no longer need to stay in the right lane going up hill and can actually pass trucks and cars! (2) No more head gasket problems.

TRANSMISSION: Original, 4-speed.
BRAKES: Completely new brake system installed with 2003 engine replacement.

EXTERIOR BODY: No dings. Paint in excellent shape. When not traveling, Westy has spent entire life in Washington. One inch area of rust at corner of front windshield and another one inch area at corner of rear window. New bumpers front & rear.

EXHAUST SYSTEM: Stock, in good condition.
WHEELS/TIRES: Stock Wheels. Tires: Michelin Radial X 185R14C 8PR appx. one- half worn.

KITCHEN APPLIANCES: 2-burner propane stove, 3-way fridge, sink, 10-gal. freshwater tank, water pump.

HOOK-UP: Full hook-up water & electrical. Cable & hoses included.
TABLES: Two. One faces rear seat, second configured for front seat occupants.
FRONT SEATS: Swivel to face back.
SLEEPING: Pop-top sleeps 2; rear seat folds down & sleeps 2.

TRAILER HITCH: A 2-inch receiver hitch was welded to the body tie-downs. It CANNOT be used for towing due to tie-down insufficiencies. It CAN BE USED for a bicycle rack or luggage rack.

UPHOLSTERY: All original upholstery in excellent shape. Original pop-top canvas in great shape. Original curtains and screens included.

SOUND SYSTEM: Kenwood Radio/CD player: KDC – MP2032 with front and rear speakers.
ELECTRICAL: Extra battery installed in 2003 for cabin accessories.
