Finally live out your Westie dreams in this stunning baby blue vintage Westfalia that is in great condition!
Fully authentic, this Vanagon is completely intact with all of its original parts and pieces. This amazing van has two full size beds – one up top in the pop up or one down below in the bench that pulls out – enough space for you and yours to enjoy your adventures in style. You’ll get so many compliments riding around in this that you’d think you were riding around on a magic carpet. You’ll be joining the freedom-seeking and adventurous community that is the Westie Family – and you’ll never look back! Life’s too short to not live it up so here’s your chance to make your Vanagon dreams come true.
This 1982 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Type 2 has a completely rebuilt air-cooled engine (re-built in 2021). Besides the new engine, tires, and battery, all other parts are original. The van has only been under a couple different owners – my mom who had it for about a year with yet unfulfilled big plans of cross-country adventure, and my uncle who purchased it from someone about twenty years ago and mostly just had it sitting at his place in Colorado. As it has lived in the dry environments of Colorado for most of its life, and Montana for a couple years, there is virtually no exterior rust except slightly on the bumpers.
The electricity hook-up works well. Electric refrigerator works well. It is believed that the propane hook-up and gas appliances work well. Because the propane tank needs to be filled at a station, I haven’t been able to test the propane hook-up myself. Although according to the original owner who sold it to us just a couple years ago, all gas appliances work well. The propane hook-up under the cap is very clean and shiny, and looks to be in great condition.
The previous owner, my awesome uncle, is an ocd aerospace engineer who kept all manuals and original parts and has labeled everything inside the van just like your grandma or grandpa would have. The title is clean and the van has never been in an accident. The furthest it was driven was from Colorado Springs to Montana a couple summers ago. It has 126,900 miles on it.
As this is an original van, there is some basic wear and tear, some of which includes the interior wall panels, a tear along the zip up window seam in the pop up, exterior paint could use a refresh, interior curtains are from 1982, and it appears to be missing one hubcap. More photos available on request.
This van has A LOT of love to give and is looking for an adventure partner – is that YOU?
The Westie is parked in Cameron, MT but I would gladly discuss meeting serious buyers in some more easily accessible places like Ennis, Big Sky, Bozeman, or Helena. Please call Juliene. Thanks!
