You need this camper van! I wish I could keep it. We have been calling it “Catbus” with the intent of art-caring it up like its namesake, but alas, not to be. I love it, but I just bought a daily driver and don’t have an extra parking spot, so it has to go. 🙁
Features:
* Tin top- no leaky tent!
* Weekender interior, includes a full sized bed, a bunch of cabinets, and a rear facing jumpseat.
* Seats 6 comfortably.
* Roof rack with attachments for two bikes
* Attached/detachable awning
* Adorable orange original paint! So cheerful in Seattle.
* Mechanicals in tip-top condition
* Interior in good condition ready for summer adventures!
It’s in great shape. Original paint, so you know it’s never been wrecked. I bought it a year ago and had a great VW mechanic go over it and fix everything mechanical that needed fixing to make it as safe and solid a performer as possible. Among other things we replaced the entire brake system front to back. I am happy to give copies of the receipts for work done. At the end of that it starts easily, runs strong, doesn’t leak any oil, and I put several thousand miles on it last summer as a family camping van.
It’s a 1980, so it’s certainly in well loved condition. The interior is in serviceable shape, but starting to show wear. The climate control system is quirky and could use a going over. It has a few bumps and scrapes on the exterior. I have driven it a couple times this season, but it’s due for a tune-up before I’d recommend taking it out into the woods. I assume I’ll work that out with the next owner as part of the transfer- your mechanic or mine?
