1983 Westfalia, first year of the watercooled engine.
The Yellow Submarine has been a wonderful van and fueled my adventures all summer long. Camping and road trips have been so much fun in this fully functional van. My priorities are elsewhere for the next year so she needs a new home.
The good:
Purchased from a dealership and received a full tune-up
All original interior and exterior in great condition for being 33 years young.
All camping components work.
Exterior propane tank, sink, stove, fridge, hookups for power and water.
New water pump for on-board tank.
Brand new pop top tent with 3 windows. Perfect to watch drive-in movies from the top bunk. Sleeps 4 comfortably.
Plenty of storage, all cabinets clean and functional.
Comfortable original bedding and upholstery, plenty of room to stretch out for you tall folks.
Original interior carpet in fantastic condition. No tears or holes in seats.
Full swivel captains chairs w/adjustable arm rests. (seats came from later year van)
New textured front bumper
New 14\” Nokian tires
Including 15\” wheels with two new Nokian Hakkeppellita snow tires
New cargo basket that installs in seconds
New steel rear bumper with 2\” steel hitch.
Tinted windows for privacy.
Speaking of privacy, great condition curtains that go the whole way around.
New goWesty interior panels for those impact places (sliding door and rear hatch)
new hatch lifts to ensure it lifts and stays upright.

Fiberglass roof in good condition. Power washed and waxed!
Original 1.9 liter WATERCOOLED engine. Easily hit 70 mph on the freeway.
Starts up every time no matter the weather.
Undercarriage of vehicle in good condition and shows typical wear for 30 year old vehicle. Wheel wells solid with no rust.
***Replaced ALL fuel lines and did FULL fuel tank re-seal. If you are looking at vans that don’t include this then you shouldn’t consider them. Old fuel lines can rupture and cause an engine fire.custom bra on the front. All rubber, grills, markers, glass, in great condition.
