Selling this Westy for friends. They have owned it for about 10 years and not using it anymore and wish to sell.

Air cooled motor, was told it had been rebuilt some point in the past but no documentation. There is extensive documents and photos on subsequent work performed over the last few years. Vehicle spent a few years in a coastal environment so there is surface corrosion in typical locations. Some amateur bondo repairs can be seen in the photos. Factory paint color re-applied in spots. Rusted area located under drivers side step. There is some corrosion around some of the windows, however all are intact and windshield does not leak. Overall body is fair, front steps have some rust but are still intact. Area around emergency brake has some rust through, was partially repaired.

Various minor dents located on the slider door and passenger side. Engine starts and runs ok, compression is low, 80 – 90 PSI. Engine does not leak oil, appears oil free but dirty and dusty. Gearbox needs side cover seals – they are leaking. Gearbox fluid level is fine, underside looks messy, but very little gear oil makes a noticeable mess. Tent top is overall intact and useable with a few areas taped and repaired. Window screen is mostly intact.

The good:
Gas heater works although it is jetted for sea level.
New heater fan motor, both heat exchangers and cables all intact and working.
Recent brake work: Fluid, brake pads, rotors and drums in good condition.
Engine and transmission start, shift and drive fine. No gear grinding or shifter issues. All Shifter bushings recently replaced.
Sink works well, has new Shurflo faucet. Water system regularly flushed and cleaned.
Propane fridge replaced with Gowesty cabinet. Has 12V voltage monitor and multiple 12V outlets added.

Electronics include Yandina battery separator, MPPT solar charge controller, and accessory fuse box. An 80AH deep cycle battery is included for the house battery. Starter battery 2 ½ years old , and system regularly kept charged. Includes 2 50W solar panels, and 12V/115VAC chest fridge. Bed, foam, and upholstery in good condition with some stains. A seat cover is provided. Cabinets in generally quite good shape, however the interior vinyl coating has peeled in spots. Stove works well and is clean. Gowesty extra stove grates are included. Poptop shocks have been added to assist. New ARB awning installed recently, in excellent shape. Custom black PVC shower added to the front storage. A shower hose and wand are included. Rear liftgate screen is included. Front privacy curtain is included.

Overall the Westy is in “tired” condition, but still has useable life left. Would be a good candidate for someone looking for a project that could be great camper. All lights, turn signals, horn, accessories, and heater fan work. The van runs and drives fine, albeit a bit slow.
