The bad first – needs a new Engine. Overheated and warped ring.

Otherwise runs great and everything else is mechanically sound. Just replaced the main and house battery. Tires have plenty of tread. Has the full history of work done.

Interior is original and still in real good condition, all things considered. Just some minor wear and tear (to be expected for nearly 40 years old). But everything interior works great as well.

Body is relatively solid, no major damage. Some minor rust in parts and some minor scrapes and dings, but otherwise in fine condition. 4-speed manual transmission. Clutch was replaced about 50K miles ago. Works great.
CD/Bluetooth/Aux Stereo with Kenwood speakers in the rear. Front speakers are original.

I have taken this van all over Washington, Oregon, and into B.C., and it drives fantastic. It has been an amazing adventure van. If I had the cash to replace the engine, I would and continue to use it all year round.

For those less familiar with T3 Westfalia Camper Vans:
– 2 Beds (Pop-up top, and back seat folds down)
– 2-burner stove (runs on propane)
– Sink
– Refrigerator (can run off AC external plugin, Propane, or DC internal house battery)
– Plenty of storage (I am constantly amazed how much I can pack in for trips without it feeling cluttered)

These vans are fantastically engineered to contain a huge amount of functionality while still feeling very cozy and comfortable. I’ve looked at many sprinter vans, etc. as well, and while the cubic volume is larger, a custom build just can’t match the VW engineering for compact efficiency.
