More Details & Pictures

Attention adventurers, I have available for purchase the perfect vehicle for your wanderlust. I present you a 1981 VW Vanagon Westfalia Pop-up camper bus. This baby is hard to miss with its unmistakable VW Bus appearance, and its positively awesome Orange exterior, that is rust free and in NEARLY PERFECT CONDITION!! This baby has seating galore with front bucket seats, with a swivel base, a camper seat behind the driver’s seat (that has a 10.6 gallon water storage in the base, and a 3 person bench seat that folds down into a cushion-y bed for all those camping trips you will be taking. It also has 2 handy-dandy swivel down tables for dinnertime, but wait where do I put the food? That’s easy it also has its own fridge for food storage as well as overhead cabinet space, and a 3 door closet! It comes equipped with an external water hook-up in case the storage runs dry while your washing dishes in your tiny sink with an electric water pump. Clearly that means that there is also an external electricity hook-up. The canvas pop-up (which is showing its age and should most likely be repaired) boasts a 2 person sleeping loft with privacy curtains, in case everyone doesn’t want to squeeze together on the fold down bench bed. In case of emergencies this bus even comes equipped with a fire extinguisher, you never know what can happen when you’re cooking on its nifty little cooktop.
Now time for some specs:

Drivetrain-

2.0 liter air-cooled horizontally opposed, 4 cylinder engine
Air Flow Control (AFC) electronic fuel injection
Power: 67HP @ 4200RPM
SAE net Torque: 101FtLbs @ 3000RPM
4 speed manual transmission
Rear wheel drive
Electronic ignition

Suspension, wheels, steering-

Independent front & rear suspension
Power assisted brakes, solid front disks, rear drums
Rack & pinion steering
Steel belted radial tires, size 185SR14
14″ steel wheels, 5″ wide
Chrome hub caps
Spare tire (full size) stored under front of van

Finally the negatives-
She will need brakes it has been sitting for a couple years now on rotors and cinder blocks (my father needed to remove the wheels for strange code law specifications of Troy due to it being unregistered)
She also needs the top half of the motor rebuilt, there was a rod tap that was intended on being addressed but sadly never was.

This is my father’s bus and as much as sentimentality urges him to keep it, I have finally urged him to part with it in hopes that someone is able to use it for its intended purpose of being a kick ass camper with tons to still offer!!
We are asking $3500 for her and due to rarity and condition we can not stray to far from that price point, however reasonable offers will be considered. More photos can be sent upon request I currently only had one on my phone. Please ignore the wood leaning on the bus in the picture, the very rude neighbors were putting up a new fence. Texting is the most efficient means of communication.
