Well, the time has come to sell our beloved Clifford, the not-so-big red van.
We have enjoyed our nine years of adventures with him and have many memories that will last a lifetime. Now it is time for someone else to take him out and enjoy the open road.
He has received a lot of attention and upgrades over the years to make our trips more comfortable and reliable. This is not a pristine, restored van destined for paved camping spots, although it always garners lots of attention wherever it goes. It is meant to find the secluded spots off the dirt roads and be used as it was designed. It came factory with a manual trans and A/C(which still works). The interior is in great condition and complete with both tables. It is the extras that have made it even more enjoyable.
Here is the list(of what I remember) of the extras.
-2002 Subaru 2.5, conversion done myself with Smallcar parts. Replaced timing belt, water pump, thermostat, etc. Engine had 92k at time of conversion. Custom lines made to allow use of factory A/C
-Rebuilt Transaxle by AA in WA with heavy duty internals designed for the extra power and a limited slip
-16” Wheels with Yokohama A/T tires with plenty of life left. Installed wheel lug around, no more bolts. Also has wheel spacers.
-Front brakes, incudig bearings, have about 2k on them, rear brakes have are new.
-Monroe helper spring rear shocks
-Custom built, by me, side mount spare tire carrier.
-Rocky Mtn heavy duty rear bumper with hitch and trailer wire harness.
-Pop-top assist struts. You can raise the top even with kayaks, etc on it
-Air conditioner setup that allows a window unit to sit in on luggage area and sends cold air through a sleeve to the tent window. Works great, bought of Thesamba.com
-Nice Sony stereo with USB and four Infinty speakers with powered sub that sits in a custom made organizer hanger system behind the front seats.
-Yakima roof rack
-Gas tank recently re-sealed
-2nd House battery that also powers the stereo and headlights
-High power headlight conversion
I am sure there are other little things, maybe bigger ones, too, that I am not recalling. But you get the idea. I also have a complete setup to convert to rear disk brakes, complete front bushing set, front lift springs, and a new windshield gasket I can through in if the price is right. Also check out the custom trailer I built to make camping even better. I love to talk about the van, so if you want any more info, feel free to reach out. We are asking $27500 for the van, $30k with the trailer.
Will also entertain trades of all sorts, VW, SUV, classics, wagon, jeep, Subaru, Volkswagen, pontoon, tractor, land, services, etc.
